About Us
The Chorus of Westerly is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable arts and community organization with a mission to harness the power of music to transform lives and nourish the soul of the community. Founded in 1959 by George Kent and now conducted by Andrew Howell, the Chorus of Westerly has become one of the most acclaimed and impactful arts and community organizations in New England. For more than 60 years, the Chorus of Westerly has remained the only independent nonprofit choral organization in the country to combine adults and children in all performances throughout the concert season. The Chorus has over 700 performances to more than 1.6 million people around the world, continuing to bring exceptional musical work and world-class performances to the region and change the lives of children in our community through choral education outreach programs.
