Oyster Shucking & Cooking Class
Oyster farmer Beth Simonds of Stonington Farms Shellfish will teach us how to shuck oysters. Ms. Simonds will share how she got started in aquaculture, her experience as a small-scale female farmer, and her perspective on the future of oyster farming in Connecticut. We will also learn about cooking with oysters and prepare a dish together. All participants will get a chance to shuck and taste oysters, and will go home with an oyster knife to use in their own kitchens. This class will take place at the New London Community Meal Center in New London.
