    Description
Architect Stephen W. Schwartz is back at the Stonington Community Center (COMO) Gym with a map of the Stonington Borough, for the second annual Let’s Build It! Building Block Workshop, in collaboration with Historic Stonington. Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. participants will work in teams of 4 to create a giant 3D map of iconic Stonington landmarks and businesses. Residents and friends will enjoy this unique opportunity to come together and celebrate the rich history of the Stonington Borough. It’s a family-friendly learning experience for people of all ages to see the town from a different perspective. The event is open to ages 7+ and no prior experience is required.
In this hands-on, engaging workshop, participants not only build structures but also deepen their understanding of Stonington’s history and architecture through interactive, team-based exploration. The event reflects both COMO’s mission of fostering creativity and community engagement, and Historic Stonington’s dedication to preserve, interpret, & celebrate the history of all of Stonington. Tickets are $25 per team of 4. Scholarships are available.
Schwartz, founder of Building Blocks Workshops, Washington University architecture graduate, and past president of a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, has led large-scale model-building events nationwide for decades. Using up to 100,000 blocks, his workshops inspire communities to reimagine their towns through creativity, teamwork, and architectural insight.
