DPNC Mini BioBlitz

Join us for DPNC’s first BioBlitz on Saturday, May 2 and help us discover the incredible diversity of life right here at the Nature Center! A BioBlitz is a fun, fast-paced community science event where participants work together to find and identify as many species as possible in a single day.

Throughout the day, expert-led hikes will explore different groups of organisms along our trails, including birds (8–10 am), fungi (10 am–12 pm), amphibians and reptiles (12–2 pm), and plants (2–4 pm). Along the way, we’ll document the species we encounter and build a snapshot of the biodiversity that calls our property home.

Each hike will be guided by a knowledgeable naturalist who will help with identification and share fascinating facts about the plants and animals we find—so no experience is necessary. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or simply curious about the natural world, come be part of this exciting day of discovery!
