As Literacy Volunteers of Washington County enters our 30th year, we invite members of the Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce to refer valued employees, over 21, without a high school diploma to our literacy center for a free orientation and standardized etest on Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon or Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on August 3, 10, or 17. We ask that the employers provide the names and contact information of the employees or that the employees schedule an appointment by calling 401-596-9411 and indicate they have been referred by their employer. With a summer registration and assessment, they will have priority for Monday and Wednesday evening courses designed for workers and those with Internet access at home will have priority for distance learning to complement their class time. Those who work second and third shifts will have priority for morning sessions in the coming academic year.
