Stonington Little League Senior Divis...Description
Stonington Little League Senior Division won the CT State Championship for the third straight year on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
The final game of the best of three State Championship Series for the Connecticut Little League Senior Division Title was played on the Green Field in Pawcatuck. Meriden and Stonington split the first two games in a double header on Saturday.
Bradin Anderson pitched nearly the entire game against high powered Meriden. Kyle Kessler relieved Anderson in the seventh inning for the final 8 pitches after the 95 pitch maximum was reached. Mason Perkins showed Meriden why so few teams try to steal as he threw a perfect strike to second early in the game for an out. James Main was on fire at the plate hitting two home runs.
In the first game on Saturday, Meriden pitcher, Tyler Duffy, won 4-3. He hit a home run and a double supplying the offense despite giving up a two-run homer to Alex DePerry. In the second game, Dylan Cimini held the Meriden team in check as Stonington won 5-2.
The Stonington roster also includes Wyatt Elliott, Noah Klewin, Korbin Anderson, Austen Linicus, Emerson Baltrukonis, Garett Lenihan, Sean Bergel, and Deondre Bransford. The coaches are Dave Linicus, Neil Main, Dan Baltrukonis, Luke Klewin and the manager is Matt Bergel.
