The Stonington Community Center is excited to bring Shakespeare back to the beach! The Glass Eye, a New York City production company, and proud sponsor, the COMO, will present the 3rd Annual Shakespeare on the Beach events this August. Enjoy an al fresco theater experience on the beach for productions on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. duBois Beach in the Stonington Borough will set the perfect scene for this event of the summer. The Glass Eye is led by Stonington-native and former COMO Kid, Kyle Metzger, who is eager to share his passion for theater with the locals of his beloved hometown. The Tempest, William Shakespeare’s last play, is one of his most beloved. This striking production will sweep you away to an island brimming with mystical music and fearsome creatures, featuring music by Tim Duncheon and Anna Stefanic, and introducing exuberant costumes by Max Archimedes Levitt. This production of The Tempest is inspired by Venice street musicians and Commedia Dell’arte and will sure transport you to Prospero’s enchanted isle. The evening showings are donation based, with suggested donation of $10 for individuals or $20 for couples and families the night of the event. All proceeds benefit the Stonington COMO. Questions?
