Thirty-second annual festival to be held June9-12, 2011
Mystic, Conn. ~ Mystic Seaport will host a Pub Sing and Chantey Blast in support of the Museum’s 32nd annual Sea Music Festival Saturday, January 8, 2011, from 1- 5 p.m. Snow date is Sunday, January 9.
Attendees are invited to join with the Mystic Seaport chantey staff as they share maritime ballads, chanteys and songs of the sea. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. More than 5,000 people gather each year to hear a gathering of American and international performers of maritime music celebrate the classic musical traditions of the Golden Age of Sail, as well as the timeless relationship between humanity and the sea. The annual festival has featured music from maritime cultures around the world.
The event is co-sponsored by the Pinewoods Folk Music Club and will be held at Frohsinn Hall, located at 54 Greenmanville Avenue in Mystic, CT, across from the Museum’s main entrance.
