There will be two "Bash for the Beach" Concerts to raise funds for businesses and victims hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy on the shoreline of Misquamicut Beach. Both events will be held at the Knickerbocker Café/Nightclub, located at 35 Railroad Avenue, Westerly, RI .
Bash for the Beach II will be hosted by the Misquamicut Business Association, less than 2 weeks later, on Friday, December 7th from 7 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The list of live popular local and area bands include: Equinox, Never Enuff, Hope Road and The Beach Band, all which are regulars on the Misquamicut Beach music scene. This event also features Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Terry Sylvester of "The Hollies," best known for the hits "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother," and "Long Cool Woman in Black Dress."
A relentless outpouring of musicians, local residents and seasonal tourists want to "give back" for the many years of being part of this nostalgic, beautiful, scenic shoreline area. They feel in a "time of need," to help rebuild and preserve it, this is one great way to contribute and one real humanitarian cause!
Admission/donation will be $15 per person and a cash bar will be provided for each event date. The Knickerbocker is well known for hosting local and national live bands. Advanced tickets are available for purchase online by the venue at: theknickerbockercafe.com. Start times for bands, to be announced.
This event is non-profit and 100% of the door proceeds and other donations (after expenses) will go to this fund and appropriated to victims by the Misquamicut Business Association and the Westerly Chamber of Commerce.
