FINANCIAL FITNESS WEEK, PRESENTED SEPTEMBER 24 – 28 BY CHELSEA GROTON BANK, STRENGTHENS PARTICIPANTS’ CREDIT AND INVESTMENT INSIGHT
Maintaining good credit, eating healthy on a budget and buying a first home can be difficult for many individuals and families during tough economic times. To address this challenge, Chelsea Groton Bank will again offer Financial Fitness Week, this time at its 50 Town Street, Norwichtown, location.
Free and open to the public this interactive educational series will help attendees:

· September 25, 11:00am – 2:00pm. Build personal economic awareness by taking the bank’s Financial Fitness Quiz. Free gift included.
· September 26, 10:00am – noon. Plan and shop for wholesome meals, even on a limited budget; presented by special guest Backus Hospital.
· September 27, 9:30am – 11:30am. Decipher the details of equity loans, reverse mortgages, first time home purchases and more.
· September 28, 10:00am – noon. Unravel the benefits and rules of mutual funds, 401(k)s, Roth IRAs and other investment options.
“The bank is excited to provide our community with this educational event,” explained Pam Days-Luketich, the bank’s community education specialist, “and the timing couldn’t be better as many people are having a hard time managing their money. Learning about the services, tools and programs that are available—such as those covered during Financial Fitness Week—will forward participants’ desire to make sound financial choices and boost their economic health.”
This will be the first Financial Fitness Week in Norwichtown, but the bank has offered the program several times in the past. “Furthermore,” Luketich noted, “bank employees are happy to provide their time and expertise to lead this and other programs for our customers and neighbors. In 2011, for instance, our 225 employees donated nearly 9,000 hours to support local communities.”
