16th Annual Wild Mushroom Festival
Sunday, September 24 1-4 p.m.
We’ll put the fun in fungi again this year at our Wild Mushroom Festival to delight foragers and food enthusiasts alike with free lectures by local experts, mushroom identification walks and sampling the flavors of the forest in dishes from some of the area’s best eateries.
Joining us this year are Brick & Basil Wood-fired Pizza Co., Captain Daniel Packer Inne, Gray Goose Cookery, Maize n Manna Wholefoods, Zest Fresh Pastry, Mashantucket Pequot Museum, Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream, Cottrell Brewing Company, and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to taste the festival favorites like candy cap mushroom ice cream and mushroom beer.
Connecticut Valley Mycological Society (CVMS) will lead mushroom identification walks and display locally foraged mushrooms. Free lectures run throughout the afternoon by The 3 Foragers, local experts on the foraging and cooking of wild mushrooms. Live music will be performed by The Root Farmers.
Tickets are $20 per adult (includes 10 food tickets) and $10 per child (13 and under; includes 5 food tickets). Ages 2 and under are free. Additional food tickets will be available for $1 each.
Use of strollers are discouraged at this outdoor festival. Parking is free and available in the Denison Farmer’s Market fields across Pequotsepos Road. Please note that the Nature Center will be closed to the public prior to the festival for setup purposes.Tell a Friend
