It's the triumphant return of the Nature Center's Wild Mushroom Festival! Join us on Saturday, October 15 and learn about mushroom hunting and identification through our woodland foraging walks and talks with experts while you explore tastes of mushroom-themed food and drink from local chefs.
Shop our expanded Mushroom Marketplace, featuring the work of artists, crafters, growers and chefs.
Sample our signature mushroom beer and ice cream float, made specially for the festival by BarleyHead Brewery and Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream. This delight is a specialty drink collaboration between two of our favorite mushroom-loving Mystic creators: BarleyHead Brewery (BHB) and Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream. Candy Capped Beer is a robust, locally sourced stout infused with the essence of candy cap mushrooms, created by brewmaster Drew Rodgers of BHB. The equally delicious ice cream is a wildly decadent creamy vanilla base infused with fragments of the candy cap mushrooms, a variety favored for dessert recipes for its maple-syrup-style sweetness.
And new this year, our Fantastic Fungi online raffle! Your festival ticket includes $15 in complimentary raffle entries, featuring a highly-curated collection of mushroom-related tools, artwork, jewelry, clothing, experiences and growing supplies. Raffle will go live in October before the festival, and tickets will be drawn at the festival so you can take home your winning items.
The festival is a ticketed event, and is expected to sell out.
