You may have seen a spinning wheel spin threads to a finished yarn product but did you know that long before the Spinning Wheel was invented, poles were used to 'drop spin' threads to make yarn. Ilse Cannon will glive us a brief history of the evolution of Drop Spinning and also demonstrate the craft.
The second part of our program will feature Donna McLaughlin, a master at Quilt Making who has taught Quilt Making in the area, and Cindy Vigue, a current member of the Thames River Quilt Guild. Donna wll explain the history of quiltng through the ages. Donna and Cindy will display several finished Quilts and explain the stories behind the Quilts.
