Sail aboard a classic America’s Cup 12 Meter Yacht as crew or spectator in this exhilarating regatta in Newport, Rhode Island. Be part of the action on a legendary 68’ yacht as you compete head-to-head aboard these powerful and graceful sailboats in picturesque Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay, the yachting capitol of the east coast.
The sailing fleet consists of American Eagle, Ted Turner’s famous Twelve; Columbia, first 12 Meter America’s Cup winner; Intrepid, legendary two-time winner in 1967 and 1970; Nefertiti, 1962 America’s Cup contender; and Weatherly, 1962 America’s Cup winner.
If you wish to be a part of the crew, the professional sailing crew on each yacht will show you what to do. You’ll practice trimming, jibing and coming about prior to racing. Victories and defeats will be celebrated at a reception immediately following the races at the Newport Harbor Inn.
Space is limited to 12 crew members on each boat. Experienced sailors will not want to pass up this unique opportunity, but novice sailors should not be shy! America’s Cup Charters specializes in working with sailors of all levels, and they understand how to involve everyone in the racing.
Sign up early for the best rate and choice of boat!
Registration includes hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary drink at the post-race celebration. Please note that racers should be 13 years or older.
