With the Wild Ones Mountain Laurel Chapter
Join us to learn how to recognize and eliminate invasive plants in your own yard. We will walk around Coogan Farm to cover the most common problematic invasive plants at this site and what is being done to manage them to protect biodiversity and restore habitat for wildlife! A few of the invasive species we will identify in the field and discuss include mugwort, black swallow-wort, porcelainberry, multiflora rose, Japanese barberry, Japanese knotweed, Oriental bittersweet and autumn olive. We will also see how to fight plants with plants, using native plantings to help to prevent invasive regrowth and reinfestation. This program is suited for adults. Meets at Coogan Farm.
