Panel Discussion
In conjunction with the current Mashantucket Gallery exhibit, a panel of southern New England Native community members discusses their perspectives on IndiVisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas. Facilitated by Dr. J. Cedric Woods (Lumbee; photo right), director of the Institute for New England Native American Studies, UMass Boston. Panelists are Angelina S. Casanova-Bell (Mashantucket Pequot), manager of Legislative Affairs, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation; Rae Gould (Nipmuc), Ph.D., lecturer and repatriation coordinator, Department of Anthropology, UMass Amherst; and Ramona Peters (Mashpee Wampanoag), director of NAGPRA Office, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. Q&A period after brief presentations, followed by light refreshments and further conversation. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.
