PAWCATCK TO THE SEA: POTTER HILL TO WESTERLY ON THE PAWCATUCK RIVER
Join us for another season of exploring the Pawcatuck River with veteran kayaker Al Brown. The Pawcatuck is considered a wild and scenic local resource that runs through woodlands, farmlands and areas of cultural interest. See the other Westerly on this paddle trip- the Westerly only seen from the river. You will float past farm fields, wooded wetlands and the historic parts of Westerly. There are a couple of swift water rapids around old dams. The take-out is at the boat launch in downtown Westerly. This paddle is about 8 miles. Bring your own kayak or canoe and a lunch. Adult oriented and depart the Nature Center at 9 a.m. or at the put-in at 9:30 a.m. The duration of the trip depends on weather and the speed of water. Members are $20 per person. Non-members are $25 per person. Please call the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center at 860.536.1216 to register.
