DESCRIPTION:"Improving the Environment from Your Backyard" will be presented by Vanessa Venturini\, environmental education coordinator at the URI Outreach Center.  During her studies in the master of environmental science program\, Ms. Venturini is focusing on wetland\, watershed and ecosystem science.  Her presentation addresses the need to create backyard habitats for wildlife in our fragmented landscape.  Her mission\, along with other groups in the state\, is to raise awareness about stormwater pollution and to empower people to make choices in their everyday lives that will benefit our ecosystems.
