Blast III May 21-22\n\nA Weekend of Visiting Tugboats\, Demonstrations\, and Family Activities\n\n \n\nMystic\, CT   Visiting tugboats\, special activities\, and toy tugboat building will highlight the third "TUGS!" Blast weekend at Mystic Seaport Saturday and Sunday\, May 21-22\, from 9.a.m. to 5 p.m.\n\nAn outgrowth of the Museum's "TUGS!" exhibit\, the weekend is designed as a family-friendly event with fun\, tug-themed activities for all ages.\n\nVisitors will be invited to climb aboard the CORNELL\, a restored railroad tug that once shuttled barges of railcars across New York Harbor.  Other vessels include Gwenmore Marine's GWENDOLYN\, and the always popular mini-tugs TOOT TOOT\, ATLANTIC HUNTER II\, and SEAHORSE.  The mini-tugs will be conducting special demonstrations throughout the day.\n\nThe Museum's tugboat pool will open for the season\, giving visitors of all ages the opportunity to take the helm of a radio-controlled model and try their hand as captain.\n\nChildren are invited to story time in the Children's Museum\, featuring everyone's favorite little tug\, "Little Toot\," and they can build a wooden tugboat keepsake (nominal fee for the toy boat workshop). Additionally\, visitors can take part in a variety of hands-on activities throughout the weekend including a heaving-line toss\, friendly games of tug-of-war\, and printing a special tugboat handbill.\n\nThe weekend is a celebration of the Museum's "TUGS!" exhibit\, an exploration of the past\, present and future of the tug\, tow\, and barge industry. The exhibit features custom-created videos\, rare images and artifacts\, and a simulator where one can take the helm of a busy tugboat. "TUGS!" can be found in the R.J.
