DESCRIPTION:Mystic Museum of Art's Art After Dark concert series continues Tuesday\, July 18 with an encore performance by The Troublemakers. In addition\, the event will feature Pizzetta pizza\, drinks\, live art by Leif Nilsson and balloon art by April Brunelle.\n\nNow in its seventh year\, the family friendly Art After Dark series integrates various art forms on the museum grounds\, introduces children to MMoA's programming\, and provides regional artists a forum to showcase their work. Weather permitting\, concerts are held under the tent on MMoA's waterfront terrace. The event is from 6PM 8:30PM.\n\nJohn Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band. Soul Searchers. One-hundred Watt Suns. Green Tea. These are just a few of the bands that members of The Troublemakers played in previously. The veteran sextet includes Ronnie Lewis and Don "DC" Culp\, both on drums\, Dan Sherer\, keyboards\, Bill Light and Josh White\, guitars\, and Marty Moroney on bass. \n\nPainter Leif Nilsson paints plein air impressionist landscapes\, largely of the scenery around Chester and the Connecticut River area. He studied at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and enhanced his education with painting expeditions and travels in Scandinavia\, Asia Minor\, and Europe. Nilsson exhibits at his own gallery in Chester\, and has had solo exhibitions at the Essex Art Association\, Lyme Academy Gallery\, Raymond Gallery\, and Marmara Gallery. He received MMoA's Best in Show in 2014 and an Award of Merit from the Salmagundi Club in 2015.\n\nApril Brunelle began making balloon art in 2010\, and has performed at previous Art After Darks and other area events.
