DESCRIPTION:The Chorus of Westerly continues its historic 60th season with the popular holiday favorite\, Christmas Pops on Saturday\, December 15 and Sunday\, December 16\, 2018. Joining the 190-voice Chorus of Westerly and conductor Andrew Howell is the Pops Festival Orchestra\, to present a program of traditional and new holiday favorites. The Chorus will hold an evening performance on Saturday\, December 15 at 6 pm. Performances on Sunday\, December 16 will take place at 2 pm and 4:30 pm. All Christmas Pops concerts will be celebrated in the historic George Kent Performance Hall\, located at 119 High Street in Westerly\, Rhode Island. \n\n \n\nTickets for all three performances can be purchased at the Kent Hall Box Office at 119 High Street\, Westerly\, or by calling 401.596.8663. Tickets are also available online at chorusofwesterly.org. Fans of Christmas Pops and the Chorus of Westerly are encouraged to inquire soon\, as historically this is a sell-out event. \n\n \n\nFirst presented in 1981\, as a counterpart to the inaugural Summer Pops concert\, the Chorus of Westerly's Christmas Pops has turned into one of southern New England's most popular and beloved holiday events. Kent Hall is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with festive decor and lights for a family friendly evening of holiday cheer. This year's Christmas Pops will feature both new and traditional holiday favorites including Sleighride\, O come\, all ye Faithful\, The First Nowell\, Fantasia on Greensleeves\, White Christmas and more. Audience members can also expect a special appearance by Santa Claus during the program!\n\n \n\nThe concert runs approximately 70 minutes in length and is appropriate for families and children ages 6 and older.
