SUMMARY:Seal Splash
DESCRIPTION:Click here for Rodney Butler \n\n\n\nClick Here for Rob Valenti\n\n\n\n \nMystic Aquarium's 7th Annual Seal Splash is a winter arctic plunge to raise awareness and money for the organization's Animal Rescue Program. Hundreds of people have made a splash by making a donation\, taking the plunge or cheering on friends and family at the event. Funds raised through registrations\, individual/team fundraising and sponsorships help Mystic Aquarium make a tangible impact on our environment by helping stranded marine life rehabilitate and return to sea. \n\n \nAbout Mystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Program\n\nMystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Program supports marine animals in need and educates the public about the ocean environment and its inhabitants. The public is encouraged to call the Aquarium's 24-hour hotline at 860.572.5955 ext. 107 if they encounter a marine mammal or sea turtle in CT\, RI or Fishers Island\, NY. Mystic Aquarium is a founding member of the Northeast Region Stranding Network. This network is comprised of organizations along the eastern sea coast which have facilities and trained staff to care for sick and injured animals. Marine mammals are protected species\, so only groups and facilities authorized by the National Marine Fisheries Service are permitted to handle these animals. To date\, Mystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Program has responded to more than 2\,000 stranded seals\, whales\, dolphins\, porpoises\, sea turtles and even a manatee!
