DESCRIPTION:Sarah & The Tall Boys to Rock the Knick for New Year's Eve\n The legendary Knickerbocker Caf kicks the new year off with rockin' Rhode Island native singer\, Sarah Potenza-Crossman with her band\, The Tall Boys on December 31\, 2012. Music starts at 9:30.\n\n Specializing in original country/blues\, Sarah & The Tall Boys is a Chicago-based Americana band that has been selling out venues across the country. In 2008\, Sarah & The Tall Boys released their debut album\, "Shiny & New\," a powerful collection of original songs drawing attention from national venues and festival producers. Within that year\, the band was performing at festivals with acts like Joss Stone and the legendary Stevie Wonder. They have since participated in festivals featuring Bonnie Raitt and Alejandro Escovedo. Regulars at The Honky Tink BBQ in the heart of Chicago\, the band now also plays at premier hot spots throughout the city.\n\n "Sarah Potenza started out in Providence and headed to Chicago to start Sarah and the Tall Boys\, where they hit the good old country-rock\, with an emphasis on country and on Potenza's outsized\, pin-you-to-the-wall vocal chops\," Providence Journal.\n\n In 2010\, Sarah & The Tall Boys released their second full-length album\, "A Lifetime Worth of Sin." A collection of Americana music\, derived from blues\, bluegrass\, and alternative-country\, all songs were written and produced by Sarah and the band\, with the exception of one Lucinda Williams cover. The CD features a talented list of notable guest musicians from such groups as The Hen House Prowlers\, The Hoyle Brothers\, and The Congregation. To capture a warmer and more authentic sound\, the entire album was recorded on two inch analogue tape with a Studer track tape machine at Strobe Recording Studio in Humbolt Park\, Chicago.\n\n Since the release of "A Lifetime Worth of Sin\," the album has reached #17 on the Freeform American Roots Radio Charts. Sarah & The Tall Boys have been touring nationally\, playing an average of 175 shows a year\, including playing for inmates at both the Cook Country Department of Corrections and the Dwight Women's Correctional Facility.\n\n Nate Dow\, of the Boston Herald\, remarks\, "It has been said that Lucinda Williams can blow the chrome off her streamline trailer. If that's true\, Potenza can blow the trailer right out of the lot."\n\n In 2011 the group was invited to perform on the main stage at the annual Rhythm & Roots Festival at Ninnigret Park in Charlestown\, RI. It was there they shared stages with world-renowned musicians Steve Earle and Richard Thompson. They are currently touring coast to coast.\n\n Potenza-Crossman has been featured on "Acoustic Chicago\," a compilation of the best singer/songwriters in the windy city.\n\n The Knickerbocker Caf was the birthplace of a local music scene that went on to have national implications. The Knick brings people together regardless of background or social standing. The Knick is stomping grounds for the denizens of old it is also home to a new generation of music lovers everywhere.
