The Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Awards Committee invites you to be a vital part of recognizing the achievements of those that are working to make our community stronger!\n\n\n\nThe 3rd Annual Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Award celebration will be held on Friday\, January 9\, 2015\, 6pm\, at Foxwoods Resort Casino. This event honors citizens of southeastern Connecticut under the age of forty who consistently demonstrate excellence in their profession\, as well as leadership\, commitment\, and service to the region.\n\n\n\nThe Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Awards are produced as a joint effort between the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce\, Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce and The Day.\n\n\n\nNomination Criteria and Guidelines\n\nTo be eligible for a Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Award\, the individual must meet the following requirements:\n\n The Nominee must not have reached forty years of age by January 1\, 2015.\n\n The Nominee must work and/or reside in the Southeastern Connecticut region.\n\n Nominee must be present to accept the award on January 9\, 2015\, 6 p.m.\, at Foxwoods Resort Casino\n\n The individual must have demonstrated selfless service and commitment to the southeastern CT community.\n\n The individual must have demonstrated leadership initiatives that improve the quality of life in the southeastern CT community. Some examples include\, but are not limited to\, the following:\n\n\n\n1. Promoting collaborative efforts that benefit the community and/or solve community problems\n\n2. Developing creative usage of historic site or re-use of underutilized structure that enhances the local economy\n\n3. Establishing a new program or event that contributes to the quality of life in southeastern Connecticut\n\n4. Overcoming a significant obstacle or tragedy and turned the situation into something positive for the community\n\n5. Undertaking measures to foster a program to encourage local shopping\n\n6. Creating a positive work environment that promotes professional and personal growth\n\n7. Achieving professional excellence within their industry while balancing extensive community service\n\n\n\n The individual must excel within at least 1 of the following industry categories: \n\n Arts & Entertainment Financial Services\n\n Non-Profit Organization Business & Entrepreneurship\n\n Government & Public Affairs Real Estate \n\n Community Service Legal\n\n Technology & Sciences Engineering\, Architecture\, & Design\n\n Marketing\, PR\, & Advertising Youth & Educatio\n\n Medicine and Healthcare \n\n\n\nGALA TICKETS: If you would like to purchase a table for the gala click here\, or for individual tickets click here. Nomination received later than this date/time will not be considered.\n\nWINNERS NOTIFIED: Friday\, October 10\, 2014\n\nAWARD CELEBRATION: Friday\, January 9\, 2015\, 6 p.m.\n\n\n\nNOMINATIONS JUDGING: The Nominations Committee will tackle the difficult job of selecting 40 finalists from an expected field of more than 100 nominations. The committee consists of respected and accomplished members of the Southeastern Connecticut community. All applications will first be certified as having been submitted completely and meeting the criteria. Next\, all applications will be reviewed and given individual scores for professional achievements and for community involvement. The committee will meet and discuss each application and vote on the final 40 selected honorees.\n\n\n\nTHE AWARD: Each honoree receives\, at a minimum:\n\n\n\n- 1 complimentary admission to the Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Award gala on January 9\, 2015\n\n- An attractive\, personalized award\n\n- Recognition in the Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty event program\n\n- Recognition via power point presentation during the celebration\n\n- A mini biography and photo in an edition of The Day\n\n- Invaluable bragging rights!
