SUMMARY:Black Heritage Along the Thames: The Half That’s Never Been Told
DESCRIPTION:Historic boat tours bring the Thames River to life with a passionate docent leading the way. Hop on and learn something new about this storied waterway or sit back and catch the breeze.\n\nNew London's 400-year history reflects the broader American story\, yet many contributions of its Black community have long been overlooked. This tour highlights those stories of struggle\, resilience\, abolition\, education\, and community\, honoring and learning about those who fought for equality and inspiring us to continue their work to deliver the promise of life\, liberty\, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Led by local historians Nicole Thomas and Tom Schuch. This tour departs from Fort Trumbull State Park in New London\, CT. \n\nGuests of all ages are welcome on this excursion. Pack a cooler with your favorite beverages and snacks\, grab your people\, and cruise!\n\nQuestions? Give us a call: (860) 333-6706\n\nHistoric Boat Tours occur Friday-Sunday and are weather dependent. Please check our website or social media accounts for the most up-to-date schedule and information.\n\nMore Info & Tickets: https://bit.ly/TRHPBoats
