George Armstrong Custer\, Sitting Bull\, and the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Philbrick delves into the context and realities of Custer's unexpected defeat at the hands of his Native American enemies under Sitting Bull. While both men professed to want peace on the eve of battle\, neither pursued it and the result was what can only be called a massacre.
