DESCRIPTION:Click Here to Meet the Honorees\n\n\n\nUnited Chambers of Southern Rhode Island announces the 40 Under Forty Awards!  5 of the southern Rhode Island chambers of commerce are partnering to present this awards celebration that will honor emerging leaders who excel in their profession and exhibit a solid commitment to community service.   The event will take place on Thursday\, March 29\, 2012 at 6:00pm at the Ocean House.  If you know someone who is under the age of 40 and should be recognized for making a differenece\, consider nominating them!  To be eligible for a Southern Rhode Island 40 Under Forty Award\, the individual must meet the following requirements:\n\n     The Nominee must not have reached forty years of age by January 1\, 2012.\n\n     The Nominee must work and/or reside in the southern Rhode Island region: Block Island\, Charlestown\, East Greenwich\, Exeter\, Hopkinton\, Narragansett\, North Kingstown\, Richmond\, South Kingstown and Westerly.\n\n     Nominee must be present to accept the award on March 29\, 2012 at Ocean House in Watch Hill\, RI.\n\n     The individual must have demonstrated selfless service and commitment to the southern RI community.\n\n     The individual must have demonstrated leadership initiatives that improve the quality of life in the southern RI community such.  Some examples include\, but are not limited to\, the following:\n\n1. Promoting collaborative efforts that benefit the community and/or solve community problems\n\n2. Developing creative usage of historic site or re-use of underutilized structure that enhances the local economy\n\n3. Establishing a new program or event that contributes to the quality of life in southern Rhode Island\n\n4. Overcoming a significant obstacle or tragedy and turned the situation into something positive for the community\n\n5. Undertaking  measures to foster a program to encourage local shopping\n\n6. Creating a positive work environment that promotes professional and personal growth\n\n7. Achieving professional excellence within their industry while balancing extensive community service\n\n  The individual must excel within at least 1 of the following industry categories:\n\n  Arts & Entertainment  Business & Entrepreneurship\n\n Community Service  Engineering\, Architecture\, & Design\n\n Financial Services  Government & Public Affairs\n\n Legal   Marketing\, PR\, & Advertising\n\n Medicine and Healthcare  Non-Profit Organization\n\n Real Estate   Technology & Sciences\n\n  Youth & Education\n\nGala Tickets:  General Admission Tickets $75.00.  Seating is limited and maximum attendance is 200.  RSVP by  March 25\, 2012.  Price includes the Award Program from 6:00-6:45pm and the celebration from 6:45-9:30 which includes tastings\, networking\, and dancing to live music by Rock and Soul Revue.  Food includes pasta station\, cheeses and crackers\, and vegetable crudite.
