DESCRIPTION:10th Annual Cabin Fever Festival Chowder Cook-Off\n\nFebruary 23rd  12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. in Olde Mistick Village\n\n \n\n \n\nOlde Mistick Village will take on the warm and welcome aroma of chowder as the merchants at Olde Mistick Village host their 10th Annual Cabin Fever Festival and Charity Chowder Cook-Off on Saturday\, February 23\, 2013 from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. All proceeds from this event benefit the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center Emergency Food Pantry.\n\n \n\nTickets are $1 for each 3 oz. cup of chowder   or you can purchase 12 tickets for $10. Tickets will be on sale the day of the event at a variety of locations throughout Olde Mistick Village.\n\n \n\nTwenty-sIX of the area's finest restaurants and caterers will compete for top awards for best chowder. In addition to the People's Choice top three awards\, a team of media celebrities (Ann Nyberg\, Dave Tranchida\, and Elissa Bass) will be judging the categories of 1) Most Creative Chowder\; 2) Heartiest Chowder\; and 3) Best Use of Regional Ingredients.  All awards will be presented by Senator Andrew Maynard and State Representative Diana Urban in the Meeting House in Olde Mistick Village at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd.\n\n \n\nOver the years the Cabin Fever Chowder Cook-off has raised between $4\,000 and $11\,000. Lu Lupovich\, chairperson for the event said "Cabin Fever really brings the community together for a terrific event benefitting such an important organization. I also want to thank our corporate sponsors   Liberty Bank\, Go Fish Restaurant\, Ten Clams Restaurant and the Olde Mistick Village Merchants Association. This year our additional sponsors are Vicki and Scott Anderson\, Regan Enterprises\, and the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce. "\n\n \n\nThe 26 restaurants participating this year are 84 Tavern on Canal\, Ancient Mariner of Mystic\, Beachside Catering at Grossman's Seafood\, Bleu Squid Bakery and Cheese Shop\, Casa Della Luce\, Chester's Barbeque\, Costal Gourmet Group\, Daniel Packer Inne\, Dog Watch Caf \, Flanagan's Restaurant at Best Western Hotel\, La Luna Ristorante of Mystic\, McQuade's Marketplace of Mystic\, Mermaid Cafe\, Mystic Boathouse\, Mystic Diner and Restaurant\, Ocean Blue Catering at Mystic Aquarium\, Octagon Restaurant at Mystic Marriott Hotel\, Saybrook Soup and Sandwich\, Semolina Pasta Shop\, StoneRidge Retirement Center\, Stonington Big Y\, Stonington Stop and Shop of Pawcatuck\, Noank Community Market\, Ten Clams\, the Restaurant at Water's Edge of Saybrook\, and Voodoo Grill.\n\n \n\nEach restaurant has a sponsoring shop in Olde Mistick Village where space will be set aside to serve chowder.
