The mission of The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce is to foster cooperation between business, government, and the community at large, to promote a positive environment that contributes to the economic vitality of the region, to promote growth of tourism, and enhance the overall quality of life.

Monday - Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day
Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.

The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce represents a major portion of the Westerly-Pawcatuck area's business and professional community. We are the largest southern Rhode Island chamber of commerce.  The 800 member businesses of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce represent many aspects of the business world. From local retail trade and professional services to manufacturing and international exporting, Chamber members provide goods and services, jobs, and tax revenue to benefit our residents, our community, and our world. Primary objectives of the Chamber include creating a strong business voice and improving the local economy while maintaining the area's high quality of livability.

A voluntary association of businesses, professionals and individual citizens working together to make the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck area the best possible place to live and work. The Chamber is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors. A paid Executive Director and a staff of four coordinate and implement the organization's policies and programs, supervise volunteer efforts and manage membership services. The activities of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce vary in response to the needs of the community and according to the desire and ability of the membership and staff.

The Chamber office serves as a contact point for numerous business and residential prospects, operates the official tourist information center directly off of Route 1, and promotes the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck economy in general. For the resident, the Chamber of Commerce is a reliable source of community information, and a dependable resource for business referrals. General information and business referrals are available by phone (401-596-7761) during office hours.

The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce office is located at One Chamber Way, and is stocked with a wide variety of brochures, maps and information about our area. We welcome visits from business people, residents and tourists alike.

As the only organization representing the entire business and professional community, The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce is a unifying force in Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut. Through involvement by service as well as financial support, Chamber members and staff are part of an organizational effort which mutually benefits their community, their businesses and their families. Anyone interested in community progress and economic prosperity is invited and encouraged to join the members of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce working to accomplish these goals.

Affiliations with other southern Rhode Island chambers of commerce

The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce is affiliated with 5 outstanding chambers of commerce in southern Rhode Island: Block Island Chamber of Commerce, Charlestown Chamber of Commerce, Narragansett Chamber of Commerce, North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce (see Unitedchambersri.org).  This means, that in addition to our own programming, we collaborate on regional programming in partnership with these other chambers of commerce.  Simply stated, you get more benefits and networking opportunities at no additional cost.  We also produce joint programs with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, and work collaboratively with chambers from all over New England. In fact, our Executive Director, Lisa Konicki, was named “Chamber Executive of the Year for New England” by the New England Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, 2011-2012.

The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce is not affiliated with the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, formerly known as the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce.   In September 2011, this group undertook a new name that numerous other southern Rhode Island chambers of commerce, municipalities, and many businesses staunchly opposed. We understand how the name Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce may be confusing to you and the public since there are several chambers of commerce operating in southern Rhode Island.

You may be contacted and invited to join the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce through a “discounted” membership that is marketed to members of the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce.  Do not be confused into thinking this discount implies affiliation or collaboration.  You do not need to join any other group to continue to receive all of the wonderful benefits and opportunities that come from being a member of your chamber.
